Bonsai and Penjing: Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty couldn't be more aptly titled. Ann McClellan writes about the museum that is part of the national arboretum in Washington DC, and some of the images are so soulful that I gasped. Absolutely wonderful. It's as though this culture within horticulture reminds you of everything that matters in the relationship between humans and nature. This makes a really beautiful gift for someone you love, but also, get a copy for yourself. It's a history of a spiritual path timeless and noble. So glad Stone Lantern carries it!

This is the most informative book on America's history with the ancient arts of Penjing and Bonsai. I have taken workshops, trained under and enjoyed the Japanese gardens of many Masters in this book. I am blessed by their knowledge. This puts context around their lives and fills in so much I never knew.
