It's not the season, so I won't use it until early spring 2024. It's very sturdy and looks like solid engineering. I'm looking forward to using it extensively.

Looks great but have not got a chance to use it

Looks and feels right for the job but never used one before and won’t be trying it out for a few more days. I will update my review once I’ve used it.

Looks like a rally good tool for air layering

I'm new to air layering so I have little to compare this tool to. And I must say I was skeptical at to whether this would be useful - or just another gadget with little practical utility. That said, I was surprised by how quickly and easily it, in a single operation, made both the upper and lower cuts through the bark around the trunk and also stripped the bark and cambium down to the bare wood between the cuts. So far, I have only done this on a single maple leader that was about an inch in diameter, and it is too early to see if my air layer will root, but this does seems to be a very convenient tool, particularly if you are going to do multiple air layerings, for trunks or leaders up to about 2 - 3 inches in diameter. I am less clear how effective it would be on larger material.

I've been ordering from Stone Lantern for 4 years and have never once been disappointed. Customer service is great, and so is pricing. I'll continue VM being a customer for as long as they keep doing what they're doing. I recommend them all the time.
