Giant sequoia specimens are the largest trees on Earth. They are native to the groves on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range of California but have been introduced, planted, and grown around the world.
Keep the soil consistently moist. Giant sequoias prefer a steady supply of water and suffer if the soil dries out completely. Mist the foliage in the mornings and evenings to mimic the cloud moisture of their native mountain habitat.
Sunlight: Place your tree in natural filtered sunlight or partial shade. Intense summer heat and direct midday sun can easily burn the edges of the needles.
Feeding: Feed your tree regularly with a balanced fertilizer during the active growing season, as they are strong growers. Do not withhold nutrients to try and dwarf the tree; miniaturization relies strictly on pruning.
