Crabapple D181
Crabapples have long been a favorite for bonsai with their spring flowers and summer and fall fruit. What distinguishes Crabapples from full size apples is mostly the size of the fruit, with the much smaller Crabapple fruit being more suitable for bonsai. Like all of our bonsai and pre-bonsai this tree is part of our Sell Down Sale, which means the price will be periodically lowered until it sells. The tree pictured is the one you'll receive.
Crabapples are deciduous winter hardy (up to a point) outdoor bonsai that take well to growing in small pots. Watering is much the same as with most deciduous and many other bonsai. For more on care for Crabapples and most other bonsai in your climate, we suggest you consult someone in your local bonsai club or Bonsai Empire online.
Most of our Crabapples are stumps which are prized by some bonsai growers for their heavy trunks. For excellent guidelines on developing stumps we suggest you visit Harry Harrington's Bonsai4Me.
