Dawn Redwoods like Larches are one of a handful of deciduous conifers in the world. Originally from Asia, they are a fast growing ancient species that grow up to 100 feet or more and do best in zones 4 to 8. They prefer well drained but moist and rich soils and do not like to dry out. They are sun lovers but prefer some shade on hot summer days.
