Jaboticaba (Plinia cauliflora), also known as Brazilian Grape Tree, is a slow-growing tropical to sub-tropical fruit tree native to Brazil. It's known for its unique characteristic of producing fruit directly on its trunk and branches. 

Jaboticaba prefers moist, rich, lightly acidic soil. It is widely adaptable, however, and grows satisfactorily even on alkaline beach-sand type soils, so long as it is tended and watered regularly and get adequate light.
