Mini Jade

Mini jades (Portulacaria afra) make lovely bonsai with their thick trunks and small plump bright emerald green leaves. They are tropicals which means they can be grown indoors, but are more apt to thrive if they spend time outdoors when temperatures are above 50F.  Mini Jades like direct sun so a minimum of 3 or 4 hours a day is good. When direct sun is not available light shade is good.

Don't over water your Mini jade. Some people say to water once a week, but our preference is to let the soil dry out before we water. Once the soil is dry it's time to water. For more detailed care information for Mini jade and other bonsai, we suggest you visit Bonsai Empire.
