Japanese wisteria (Wisteria floribunda) is a vigorous, woody, deciduous climbing vine native to Japan known for its long, cascading clusters of fragrant purple, violet, or pinkish-violet flowers.

Wisteria prefer full sun in the north and and semi-shade is in the south. A rich well drained soil is best (if your bosai soil does not have organic ingrediants, they fertilizing is recommended. Winter hardiness to zone 5.
